Job Title: Automation and OT Systems Engineer

Location: Jefferson City, TN

Job Summary:
 We are seeking an experienced Automation and OT Systems Engineer to manage and support PLC programs, source control implementation, and OT network devices. This role requires expertise in PLC systems, Ignition SCADA platforms, and network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will drive process standardization, manage documentation, and ensure efficient operations of OT systems across different plants. The position involves collaboration with various plant leaders to prioritize system upgrades and assessments, ensuring best practices and long-term scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Must Have:
   • OT Support and Troubleshooting:
     • Provide ongoing support for OT devices and ensure minimal downtime.
     • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in PLC and Ignition systems.
     • Update ServiceNow with ticket details and resolutions.
   • OT Network Devices:
     • Manage and maintain OT network devices, including PLCs, SCADA systems, switches, and routers.
2. Nice to Have:
   • PLC Program Source Control:
     • Implement and manage source control for PLC programs using tools like Copia, Versiondog, or AssetCentre.
     • Create repositories for PLC programs, manage versioning, and ensure proper branching and merging for collaborative work.
   • Process Standardization and Documentation:
     • Standardize processes related to OT network devices.
     • Create detailed documentation for all processes and ensure they align with best practices.
3. Optional:
   • OEE Tag Building:
     • Develop and build tags to support Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data collection.
     • Update PLC programs to collect and process relevant OEE-related data.
4. Needs Deep Dive:
   • PLC Simulation Tag Naming Standardization:
     • Lead the process of standardizing tag naming conventions for future PLC simulation tools.
     • Establish clear naming standards to improve consistency, scalability, and debugging efficiency across simulations.
5. Plant PLC Assessment (Shippensburg):
   • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of PLC systems.
   • Identify areas for improvement and recommend potential upgrades.
   • Collaborate with plant leaders for prioritization and system enhancements.

Requirements:

• Technical Skills: Expertise in PLC systems (including programming and source control management), Ignition SCADA, network devices (PLCs, SCADA systems, routers, and switches).
• Experience: Proven experience in OT systems support and troubleshooting, managing large-scale PLC environments, and implementing process standardization.
• Collaboration: Ability to work closely with plant leaders to assess and prioritize projects.
• Documentation Skills: Strong capability to create and maintain process documentation, ensuring alignment with industry best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with OEE systems and the ability to develop tags to support data collection and analysis.
• Source Control Tools (Nice to Have): Familiarity with Copia, Versiondog, or AssetCentre for managing PLC programs and version control is a plus but not required.
