Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BSN obtained within 12 months of hire date into this position
  • Working knowledge of nursing in a hospital setting
  • Understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements as they relate to patient safety and performance improvement
  • Working knowledge of quality improvement tools, data analysis and statistics, and publicly reported patient safety initiatives
  • Well developed communication skills, both oral and written

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

  • Alabama RN License

Desired Qualifications:  

  • MSN  or MN
  • Experience with the Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effect Analysis processes
  • Ability to critically analyze reasearch articles and appropriately apply findings to practice
  • Successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Leader education master's program or experience in a CNL role
  • CPHQ certification

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Establishes and coordinates a System wide patient safety program that fosters ongoing improvement in patient safety and complies with accreditation and regulatory standards.  Works with executives, management, hospital and medical staff to develop a culture of safety and medical error prevention.
