About this role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Planner to develop, manage, and maintain the integrated master schedule for the deployment and replacement of civil air traffic surveillance radars across the United States, covering both approach and en-route radar systems. This is a pivotal role within a major nationwide program, ensuring all project activities are accurately scheduled, resourced, and tracked to meet program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update the comprehensive Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) for all project activities across multiple sites operating in parallel.
  • Collaborate with project managers, cross-functional teams, and subcontractors to gather scheduling data, define task dependencies, and accurately reflect the project scope and timelines.
  • Utilize project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) to establish critical paths, monitor progress against baselines, and identify potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks.
  • Analyze schedule deviations, forecast potential delays, and work with project leadership to develop and implement corrective scheduling actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare detailed status reports, Gantt charts, and variance analyses for regular customer reporting, highlighting schedule performance, risks, and earned value data.
  • Ensure all scheduling activities comply with safety, regulatory, and quality requirements, coordinating planning aspects of site activities including installation, commissioning, and acceptance of radar systems.
Requirements:
  • Proven expertise in project scheduling and planning for large-scale, multi-site technology deployment projects, preferably in the air traffic management or civil aviation sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in project scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on results, continuous improvement, and identifying potential project risks within the schedule.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to gather information effectively from distributed teams and present complex schedule information clearly to stakeholders.
  • High level of organizational rigor and exceptional attention to detail in tracking project milestones and dependencies.
  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
Reporting Line
  • The Project Planner will report directly to the Program Manager and will be responsible for coordinating scheduling inputs and outputs across multiple locations in parallel. The role will also involve direct interaction with the Project Managers and the customer’s planning teams for the coordination of activities.
