About this role

<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong><br>InCharge Energy is seeking a <strong>Revenue &amp; Project Accountant</strong> to support accurate project financial tracking and revenue recognition across our growing portfolio of work. This role is responsible for monitoring project costs, budgets, and profitability while ensuring revenue is recognized accurately in accordance with ASC 606 and internal policies. You’ll partner closely with Project Managers, Sales, and Accounting to support informed decision-making and maintain strong financial controls throughout the project lifecycle.</p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Set up and maintain project budgets, cost codes, and financial tracking structures</li> <li>Review and process project-related invoices, expenses, and accruals</li> <li>Monitor project costs, commitments, and revenues against approved budgets</li> <li>Track work-in-process (WIP) and project profitability</li> <li>Prepare and analyze project financial reports, forecasts, and variance analyses</li> <li>Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606</li> <li>Prepare and review revenue and cost of goods sold journal entries</li> <li>Maintain deferred revenue and unbilled revenue accounts, including reconciliation and revenue recognition</li> <li>Reconcile revenue, deferred revenue, and work-in-process balance sheet accounts</li> <li>Ensure compliance with company policies, contract terms, and applicable financial regulations</li> <li>Partner with Sales to understand customer contracts and revenue terms</li> <li>Collaborate with Billing to ensure invoicing aligns with contract requirements</li> <li>Work closely with Project Managers to identify cost overruns and financial risks early</li> <li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance revenue and project accounting efficiency</li> <li>Calculate quarterly sales commissions in accordance with plan terms and ensure timely payment</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Your Experience &amp; Capabilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred</li> <li>3–7 years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based environment</li> <li>Strong understanding of project costing, budgeting, and financial controls</li> <li>Solid knowledge of revenue recognition concepts; ASC 606 experience a plus</li> <li>Advanced Excel skills, including financial analysis and reporting</li> <li>Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills</li> <li>Experience supporting construction, engineering, IT, or consulting projects is a plus</li> <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills</li> <li>High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li> </ul><div class="content-conclusion"><p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <p>Full-time employees enjoy competitive compensation, yearly bonuses, and benefits package including 401(k) matching contribution, health, dental, and vision, cell phone reimbursement, generous vacation, office meals and snacks, team building events and activities throughout the year.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Equal Opportunity Employer</strong></p> <p>Employment at InCharge Energy is based solely upon individual merit and qualifications directly related to professional competence.
