Position Summary
The Forge Cleaner is responsible for degreasing and cleaning all areas within the forge department. This role plays a vital part in supporting equipment uptime, workplace safety, and environmental compliance. The Forge Cleaner supports general maintenance efforts and contributes to a clean, organized, and efficient manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, hands-on, and comfortable working in a dirty, heavy industrial environment.
About You
At our company, we are looking for exceptional individuals who can meet the following criteria:
- Ability to work in a dirty, hot, noisy industrial environment
- Ability to perform physically demanding work including standing, bending, lifting, and walking for extended periods
- ability to work safely around heavy equipment and machinery
- ability to follow safety rules and work independently or as part of a team
- ability to manage repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and safety standards
Education & Experience
- Education - Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
- Experience – None required – full training will be provided
Knowledge
- Basic industrial cleaning and housekeeping practices
- Workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Basic understanding of manufacturing or forge environments
- Spill containment and environmental compliance principles
- 5S and workplace organization concepts
Skills
- Ability to use pressure washers, scrapers, and basic cleaning tools
- Good attention to detail and safety awareness
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures
- Good communications and teamwork skills
- Ability to recognize and report hazards or abnormal conditions
Working Conditions
- Exposure to dirt, oil, scale, heat, and elevated noise levels in a forge manufacturing environment
- Requires use of PPE (safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing, hearing protections, etc.)
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
