Job Summary
IMI is seeking a full-time Industrial Project Engineer for the Athens, GA area.
Essential Functions
The Project Engineer will be responsible for the overall coordination, implementation, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company policy, strategy, commitments, and goals.
- Ensure the safe operation of all projects by following and enforcing all company and customer safety policies and regulations.
- Prepare project management quotes, assuring each are grammatically correct and free of spelling errors.
- Lead the planning and implementation of a project clearly articulating project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Develop full scale project plans with timelines.
- Coordinate and schedule project staff.
- Material and subcontractor pricing.
- Manage a budget on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Review and screen candidates for hiring.
- Provide direction and support to project team.
- Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders including problems and solutions.
- Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
- Review assigned project to ensure adherence to contract documents.
Education and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or Project Management with 2-3 years' experience in project management required.
- Advanced level computer experience, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Project and Blue Beam.
- Previous experience in reviewing the legality of contract documents.
- Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
- Proven experience in people management and a commitment to industrial safety.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management.

In addition to our Field Services, IMI offers precision machining services, with fast turnaround, making replacement parts to OEM specifications and reproducing parts from worn or broken samples. We offer CNC and conventional machining and large capacity milling and turning up to 38” x 23’ and 80" x 12'; water jet offers 5’ x 10’ capacity, up to 6” thick.
Our fabrication capabilities include structural fabrication, piping and modular fabrication, material handling equipment, assembly carts, below-the-hook lifting devices, and custom fabrication, including stainless steel and aluminum fabrication; and we offer surface preparation and finishing.
