Position Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in driving financial performance by delivering accurate reporting, insightful analysis, and forward‑looking planning support. This role partners closely with Accounting and Division leadership to support strategic decision‑making, strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes. The ideal candidate combines strong technical finance skills with the ability to translate data into meaningful business insights and recommendations.

The position will be based in the Houston, TX office.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning, Forecasting & Analysis

  • Support financial planning processes including internal Division annual budgeting, monthly forecasting and long‑range planning.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario planning, LMAD, ROI/IRR evaluations to support operational decision‑making.
  • Participate in monthly financial reporting, including analysis of overhead expenses, commissions, and accounts receivable.
  • Analyze and interpret monthly and quarterly trends across cash and expense categories to identify risks and opportunities.

Financial Reporting & Month‑End Close

  • Support and execute accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year‑end close activities.
  • Prepare or review journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analyses for key general ledger accounts (commissions, freight, AR, SD&A).
  • Partner with the Sales Directors, IT, and Operations to explain results, understand drivers and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare scorecards, business reports and required corporate/regulatory reporting.

Business Partnership & Decision Support

  • Communicate financial results, insights and risks to key stakeholders in a clear, business‑focused manner.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to design, refine and monitor KPIs that support financial performance.
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing financial modeling, cost analysis and investment evaluations.
  • Respond to inquiries from corporate, external partners and internal leadership with accuracy and urgency.

Controls, Compliance & Process Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Participate in the development, enhancement and monitoring of internal control processes.
  • Support audit request preparation and internal/external audit activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement by applying ITW principles (80/20, PLS, Segmentation) to simplify processes and improve reporting efficiency.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner with the Division Financial Controller and Staff Accountant to support a high‑performing finance team.
  • Provide coaching, knowledge‑sharing and support to junior team members as needed.
  • Foster a culture of engagement, accountability and operational excellence.
  • Promote a safe and healthy work environment.

Other Duties

  • Support other projects and initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting, Finance, FP&A, or related fields.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data, prepare forecasts and deliver meaningful insights.
  • Demonstrated accountability for results and understanding of the financial impact of business decisions.
  • Strong proficiency in ERP systems, BI platforms and Microsoft Office (Excel expertise required).
