About this role

Job Description:

-Scope and Function:

• Design and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and control systems for commercial bakery equipment.

• Specify and select electrical components (motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, wires etc.) based on application requirements.

• Partner with PCB suppliers to develop technical specification requirements that meet cost targets and quality standards.

• Identify existing components & control systems from products within the family of brands that can be utilized to improve functionality, (e.g. IoT connectivity). • Experience with dataloggers, oscilloscopes, DMM, in-circuit testing, watt meters

• Knowledge of UL, NEC, or other related standards UL 508A branch and enclosure experience, (UL/NEMA/IP), SCCR and AIC rating and their design.

-Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in the use of 3D modeling software, preferably Inventor.

• Proficient in the use of 2D modeling software, preferably AutoCAD Electrical.

• Prior experience with development of PCBs and other integrated circuits for electrical systems.

-Education/Experience:

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, (BSEE).

• 2+ years of experience in design engineering working in a product development environment within a cross functional engineering team in the fields of machine design, industrial automation, or material handling equipment design, and/or robotic system design.

-Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Hands on testing and/or troubleshooting

• Ability Lifting up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Skills (not required):

• Proficient in the use of ERP system, preferably Epicor.

• Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and prior experience with programming. Allen Bradley and Siemens

• Lead and contribute to the design, development, and prototyping of system architectures, schematics, and PCB layouts. You'll also be responsible for testing and iterating designs to optimize performance.
