About this role
- Carry out preventive and breakdown maintenance for:
- Electrical systems (lighting, power sockets, panels)
- Plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, sanitary fittings)
- HVAC & air-conditioning units
- Basic carpentry, masonry, and painting works
- Attend and resolve guest room maintenance complaints promptly to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Perform routine checks of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house, and plant rooms.
- Follow IHG Fire, Life Safety & Security (FLSS) standards at all times.
- Ensure safe handling of tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Report any unsafe conditions, hazards, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
- Support mock drills, fire drills, and emergency procedures as required.
- Execute scheduled PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) as per engineering checklist.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, breakdowns, and repairs.
- Assist in maintaining AMC schedules and vendor coordination.
- Respond to guest complaints politely, professionally, and efficiently.
- Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude while working in guest areas.
- Ensure minimal disturbance to guests during maintenance activities.
- Assist in energy conservation initiatives (electricity, water, HVAC).
- Ensure equipment is used efficiently to minimize wastage and downtime.
- Report any abnormal consumption patterns to the Engineering Head.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Front Office, and other departments.
- Support hotel operations during peak occupancy and emergencies.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer/Management.
