Team Description:
Asset Management plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and strategic investment of AVANGRID’s transmission and substation infrastructure. This department assesses asset health, criticality, and risk to prioritize interventions and inform long-term planning. Using inspection data, testing results, and sophisticated algorithms, the team generates index scores and manages replacement programs, spare part strategies, and collaborative reporting efforts that span the full asset lifecycle.
Job Summary:
General responsibilities include, conducting new asset assessments by learning operations and maintenance practices, evaluating industry methodologies, collecting internal data, and supporting the development of scoring algorithms. The role also involves supporting project strategy through research into utility best practices and contributing to the formulation of replacement and sparing strategies. Creating Asset Management Plans (AMPs) is a key responsibility, requiring collaboration with operations, maintenance, and disposal teams to draft comprehensive lifecycle documentation. Additionally, the position entails coordinating data by engaging with stakeholders to understand data requirements, compiling responses, and aiding in corporate reporting. Oversight of programs is another important aspect, including participation in the planning and approval of asset-based initiatives such as SCADA automation and transmission line upgrades. Finally, the role supports spare equipment programs by assisting in the management of critical spare strategies for essential equipment like transformers and breakers.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Any Discipline)
Less than 2 years of work experience
Rotations:
Rotation 1 - 8 Months - Asset Management: Learn how asset scoring methodologies guide investment decisions
Rotation 2 - 8 Months - Maintenance Engineering: Understand how inspection and testing data is generated and applied
Rotation 3 - 8 Months - Project Development: Use asset insights to help scope and justify capital infrastructure projects
