Role

The Field Team Leader is responsible for leading and developing a multi-disciplined team of industrial staff in delivering the safe, effective, and productive provision of outputs associated with relevant element of the distribution delivery plan.

  

What you’ll be doing 

Lead and coach a team of industrial staff to ensure safe working practices are utilised in the course of maximising outputs and productivity levels; as well as ensure teams are competent, authorised and equipped to meet the needs of the work programme.

Analyse business performance to ensure ongoing delivery of outputs are completed within unit and authorised prime costs, to required quality standards and within required timescales, identifying opportunities for future improvement.

Prepare and manage budgets and monitor appropriate cost information from relevant financial systems.  Focus on minimising discretionary spend and ensure proactive control of costs.

Support the development and delivery of robust short (6-12 week) and medium (3 – 12 month) plans

Support the efficient and effective delivery of performance targets as appropriate

Effective depot management across the operational depot aligned to the district.

Respond appropriately to Customer Complaints, taking ownership and resolving as appropriate

What you’ll bring 

Expert knowledge of standards required of construction and maintenance works, including working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.

Expert knowledge of corporate systems.

Contract & SLA management and general commercial & regulatory awareness.

Proven experience of managing, motivating, coaching and developing teams.

Effective stakeholder and customer service engagement and management.

Ability to manage competing priorities to determine optimal solutions

Awareness and understanding of key business drivers and the external commercial context in which SPEN is operating

Awareness of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.

Availability to travel as required

Minimum Criteria  

  • SVQ/NVQ qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Computer literacy – e.g. Microsoft Office suite

  • Proven experience in a comparable team management role and relevant operational experience
