Role Overview

We are seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager to lead and coordinate product change management activities within the Connected Car Services and Mobility Platform ecosystem. This role is highly technical, requiring a deep understanding of modern automotive software systems, middleware integration, mobile applications, and cloud-based API architecture.

The ideal candidate will act as the key liaison between business stakeholders, software engineers, architects, and third-party vendors, ensuring technically sound, timely, and efficient delivery of complex change requests and product enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Activities and responsibilities related to Connectivity Service Development and Operations include, but are not limited to:

Product Change Request (PCR) & Technical Execution Oversight

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of change requests, including technical assessment, scope definition, impact analysis, and solution feasibility.
  • Maintain a robust change prioritization framework that balances technical complexity, platform impact, and business value across multiple stakeholders.

Technical Program Management

  • Lead development of detailed, technically sound project execution plans, with emphasis on system integrations, interface compatibility, and deployment dependencies.
  • Support backend API review sessions, API testing coordination, and validation of interface agreements between mobile apps, middleware, and vehicle head units.
  • Coordinate development testing, UAT preparation, and cross-platform regression testing for each change deployment.

Systems & Middleware Integration

  • Work with system analysts to validate business and technical requirements for connected vehicle features, mobile app behavior, and cloud service integrations.
  • Assist QA and development teams with technical use cases, backend debugging, and resolution of middleware/mobile communication issues.

Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Facilitate requirements gathering and technical alignment workshops with internal and external stakeholders (including OEMs and Tier-1 vendors).
  • Manage vendor deliverables and ensure integration testing compliance before final acceptance.

Operational Excellence

  • Monitor, report, and track PCR status using tools like JIRA, Confluence, and MS Project.
  • Support production deployment (planned and emergency) and post-release incident analysis with a strong focus on root cause and resolution.
  • Perform post-deployment data analysis and trend reporting on system performance and user impact.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of combined experience in software project management and technical systems implementation.
  • Technical knowledge in:
  • API architecture and tools: Understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs, with hands-on experience using Postman, Swagger, and basic API management and testing tools.
  • Mobile app development (Android/iOS): Familiar with the full development lifecycle, compliance for app store releases, and common frameworks like Kotlin, Swift, or React Native.
  • Middleware and integrations: Experience with API interfaces using ESB and basic integration patterns for connecting systems and services.
  • Databases: Knowledge of both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB) databases, including how to write queries and manage data
  • Hands-on experience with development testing, system analysis, and platform monitoring.
  • Advanced proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or equivalent PM and documentation tools.
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional engineering teams (internal and vendor-based).

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in software development or architecture.
  • Prior experience in a consulting or Tier-1 automotive supplier company.
  • Experience authoring and validating API test scripts using Postman or similar tools.

Salary range: $103,170 - $158,873
