About this role

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Customer point of contact for the assembly group quality.
  • Lead 8D investigation and customer response. 
  • ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Internal Quality System Audit management.
  • Customer portals Ford GSAR, General Motors SPPS, Stellantis NCT, and others
  • Layered Process Audit management.
  • Train or coordinate the training of departmental personnel to perform their job responsibilities in a proficient manner. 
  • Knowledge and practice of Hutchinson’s Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements. 
  • Monitor hold cage and material disposition.
  • Scrap reduction team member. 
  • Data collection for metric reporting.
  • Review of inspection data.
  • Continuous improvement team member.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have the ability to independently lead a cross functional team using problem solving tools and the 8D methodology. 

Must have good interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate with customers, suppliers, production, engineering, sales and other company personnel.  Extreme attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to multi-task. 

Must have good computer skills with a working knowledge of software programs used for plant operations (Mapics, XA “Green Screen”), customer portals, and a process focused mindset.  Must understand general operations in a manufacturing environment.

EDUCATION &/or EXPERIENCE:

Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent; and a minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must have good understanding of general engineering and quality mathematical reasoning. With a proven ability to make decisions based on data. 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Must possess or obtain the working knowledge of plant quality programs such as but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PLEX, and MiniTab.  Must have the ability to generate graphs and charts indicative to metric tracking. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Must possess the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables.  Must be able to assess reasonableness or integrity of the analysis performed.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must possess or the ability to obtain internal auditor certification(s) pertaining to ISO 9001 / IATF16949, ISO14001. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer is preferred but not necessary depending upon professional work experience.

The employee will be in a shared office (cubicle) environment.  There may be occasions where the employee will have tasks to perform in a Laboratory environment and a Manufacturing environment, where Personal Protective Equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses and Safety Shoes are required.
