SUMMARY:
The APU Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of production within the assigned assembly area. This role ensures that operations meet quality, cost, and delivery targets while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and team development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates in, understands, supports, and adheres to all Safety and Quality policies and requirements.
Lead and manage daily operations of the surface prep area, ensuring production goals are met.
Monitor and improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Logistics.
Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Ensure proper staffing, training, and development of team members.
Maintain accurate production records and reports.
Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and technologies.
Promote a positive work environment and uphold company values.
Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or assembly operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher) – preferred
Leadership or Supervisory Training Certification – preferred
Valid Driver’s License – required
First Aid/CPR Certification – preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct supervision of team leaders and production associates within the assigned department.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office suites
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and process several abstract and concrete variables. Must be able to assess reasonableness of the analysis performed. As well as making decisions based off of the data given.
