About this role

As an Associate Attorney in our Litigation practice, you will join a team of attorneys representing individual and business clients throughout South Carolina in State and Federal Courts in litigation, business, and real estate related practices

  • Attend court proceedings (trials, motion hearings, depositions, arbitrations, mediations)
  • Draft pleading, motions, discovery, and memoranda of law
  • Meet and confer with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D from an accredited law school and active license to practice law in the state of South Carolina
  • 1-3 years’ experience handling civil and/or real estate litigation matters
  • Completion of S.C. Rule 403 requirements
  • Effective time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex legal and business documents
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with others

  • Experience with title and/or real estate
  • Litigation Experience

Work Environment 

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands 

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files (up to 15 lbs), open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary, operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
