The Role
This benchmark is intended to be used by companies that have generic classifications engaged in research and/or product development encompassing primarily one or more of the following engineering disciplines: electronics, electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical.
Must Have
5 Years with Bachelor of Science Degree in engineering; 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Master's Degree; 0 years of relevant professional experience with a PhD.
Nice to Have
An incumbent must have a knowledge of Project Management and Engineering processes related to shipbuilding. A comprehensive understanding of ship design processes, and company business management principles and have demonstrated the ability to manage and direct the work of others.
Candidate should have intermediate proficiency with MS Office products.
A Master of Science in Engineering is highly preferred
The preferred candidate should have shipbuilding and technical experience with emphasis in one or more of the following areas:
• Ship Programs
• Program Management
• Ship Engineering System Design
• Project Management
• Requirements Management
Candidate should have the ability to balance and influence multiple competing priorities and individuals. Candidate should have ability to work with different types of supervision and possess skills to coordinate and clearly and effectively communicate and foster effective relationships with internal and external customers.
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, as well as, analytical, presentation and human relations’ skills are essential.
