Right now we are looking for a Registered Nurse to work with our Acute Inpatient Medicine Unit, 14 East - Stroke & Medicine.

 

 

Employment Status: Temporary Full-time Duration: March 2027

Reporting Relationship: Manager of 14 East

Hourly Rate: $40.24 - $57.68

Union Group:  ONA

Hours of work: Rotating shifts, 12 hours, days/nights/weekends

Location: Humber River Health, Wilson site 

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • R.N. responsibilities general medicine, geriatric and stroke 
  • Care planning and coordination of care with various team members.
  • Utilization of computerized systems for patient care documentation.
  • Participation in project teams or hospital committees as required.
  • Resource/team leader responsibilities.
  • Mentorship of new hires and pre-grad nursing students.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current BCLS certification or an agreement to obtain within 3 months of commencement into the position.
  • 2 years acute medical/surgical Inpatient experience preferred.

  • Acute Stroke Experience preferred
  • Demonstrated patient assessment skills (Advance Physical Assessment)
  • Excellent organizational skills with an ability to set priorities, sound problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent patient/family teaching skills and an ability to promote family centered care.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with multidisciplinary team, patients, family members and visitors.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
