Summary:

The Lube Technician is primarily responsible for performing routine equipment maintenance, focusing on lubrication and fluid services. This includes shop maintenance, cleanliness and any other minor repairs.

 

Responsibilities:

As a Lube Technician, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with the occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Service of all Company vehicles, such as chassis lubrication, oil changes and cleaning of trucks and any other MWS equipment, as needed.  
  • Conduct vehicle maintenance according to established MWS policies and procedures.  
  • Maintain all required records and files for vehicle maintenance.  
  • Will also be required to clean the shop, paint rims, and generally maintain the appearance of the equipment. 
  • Assist technicians with basic repairs and other maintenance of trucks and equipment.
  • Will be lubricating and conducting fluid services, on all Miller Waste equipment, as needed.
  • Draining old oil, replacing filters and refilling with correct amount of new oil.
  • Inspecting and topping off various fluids like transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant, and windshield washer fluid.
  • Applying lubricants to various vehicle components, such as chassis parts and wheel bearings, to reduce friction and wear.

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will be mechanically inclined and possess a strong work ethic.  
  • Should possess a strong desire to learn and an ability to apply that knowledge during their daily duties.  
  • Previous experience as a Lube Technician or in a similar role is considered an asset.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is key, as well as working in a team environment.  
  • You must be available to work late when trucks are behind schedule, as well you may be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays. 
  • Should be striving to obtain a Technician’s Licence.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for this position.
