Summary:

The Multi-Residential DZ Driver/Loader at Miller Waste Systems is responsible for the safe, efficient collection and transport of residential waste streams. This role supports public health by ensuring timely service, adherence to safety and environmental regulations, and respectful interaction with the community.

 

Responsibilities:

In the position of Multi-Residential DZ Driver/Loader, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Safely operating the assigned commercial vehicle to collect various waste streams in a safe and efficient manner and delivering the material to the appropriate depot (transfer station, landfill, compost facility etc).
  • Ensure timely collection of multi-residential bulk waste and recyclable materials.
  • Operate rear pack and top load, with the potential to assist on ASL or top load when required.
  • Providing customers with reliable and high-quality customer service. Proper disposal of the waste streams is vital to the health and well-being of the residents of the community.
  • Adhering to the collection and delivery schedule while following all relevant MWSI policies and procedures as well as legislation and regulations set out by the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Environment as well as the by-laws of the Municipality in which you are working in.
  • Working collaboratively with fellow employees, management, residents and members of the public in a polite and respectful manner at all times.
  • Participate in other projects and provide constructive feedback as required.

 

 

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • A DZ Driver’s Licence with a safe driving record.
  • A safety-first attitude with demonstrated safe working habits.
  • An understanding of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and your responsibilities as an employee within it.
  • Flexibility with scheduling, as early starts, delayed finishes and on rare occasions, Fridays and weekend work will be required.
