About this role

U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work at our VRE (Virginia Railway Express) locations throughout Greater Northern Virginia. Including areas such as Spotsylvania, Manassas, Alexandria, Woodbridge and other surrounding areas. The applicant will be responsible for the following:

Responsibilities

  • Maintenance workers are responsible to help and assist in the maintenance, electrical repair and carpentry work for VRE stations and facilities. Being a maintenance worker requires light trouble shooting abilities for a variety of different types of machinery and equipment. Including industrial machinery, electricity, plumbing, generators, etc.
  • Assist installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment. Perform duties such as carpentry, general contract/labor, concrete work, drywall installation, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers.
  • Provides Preventive maintenance service to machinery, generators, etc.
  • Provides daily and weekly inspection reports of equipment
  • Required to be on call as needed

Knowledge and Experience

  • Basic Safety, Power Tools, handheld tools. Attentive and motivated 
  • Use diagnostic tools, blueprints/manuals, and schematics effectively
  • Maintain detailed maintenance logs and repair records

May be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth above to address business needs and changing business practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training

High School Diploma or GED equivalent, computer training with Microsoft Office Suite. Including knowledge with Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Licenses, Certifications, Requirements

  • Licensed Journeyman Electrician
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check and successful completion of pre-employment drug screening.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.

Working Conditions

  • Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job. Including climbing ladders and navigating confined spaces at times.
  • Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
  • Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
  • Standard schedule typically includes a 40-hour week. May require evenings, weekends, or on-call.
