Alltrista - Technician, Process - Reedsville 

Position Summary

Under minimal Supervision, will interface between production and tool department to assure product specifications are met and tool is ready for CIM SPC.

 

Primary Functions

  • Responsible for mold set-ups and changes, including instructing employees in proper and efficient set-up techniques and methods.
  • Completes daily mold cleaning checklists.
  • Examines tools, machines and processes to maximize tool and process utilization and insure all processes and tools are running accurately.
  • Develops and establishes manufacturing process parameters utilizing established and innovative techniques.
  • Assists with color changes as necessary.
  • Works with Quality, Processing, Automation and Tooling as necessary to fix higher level problems.
  • Supports other positions as needed.
  • Supports the QMS by adhering to the system requirements.
  • Understands and follows plant safety rules.  Helps to identify and eliminate any safety hazard or concern.  Assists in monitoring of quality of work output.
  • Maintains compliance with company policy and procedures.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Responsible for reporting any problems or concerns to direct Supervisor. 
  • Maintains good working relations with all other employees.  Strives to have no conflicts with other employees.
  • Requires regular attendance to perform essential element as contained herein between the assigned start and end times for work.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of material behavior and rheology.
  • Familiarity with mold design and hot runner systems.
  • 3-5 years’ general injection molding troubleshooting experience.
  • Computer skills necessary to effectively utilize CIM.
  • Skills to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of problem and evaluation of alternate solutions; use logic, mathematics or other problem solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions.
  • Self-motivated to learn and perform job tasks to meet or exceed customer and company expectations.
  • Demonstrates the capacity to work at an efficient rate to meet production goals and standards.
  • Effectively communicates with others both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts, as applicable.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical training in higher order injection molding operations (SPC, DOE, Paulson, RIG, etc.)

 

Physical Requirements:

Environment: Normal manufacturing environments; work with machinery and media in or around confined spaces; exposure to chemicals, grease and oils.  Sitting at a desk or workstation approximately 40 percent of the work time.  Standing and walking approximately 60 percent of the time.

Physical: Sufficient physical ability to perform light lifting and carrying; reaching, kneeling, crawling, climbing; standing for prolonged periods of time. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. to the height of 4 feet and up to 20 lbs. to a height of 7 feet.  May be required to carry, push or pull up to 45 pounds.  On occasion must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.  Must be able to routinely climb/descend stairs, ladders, and similar elevations.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction; vision sufficient to read computer

screens and printed documents.

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Other: Travel by automobile and commercial transportation.  Ability to work overtime or occasionally on weekends with short notice.
