About this role

Regions Hospital Clinical Laboratory is currently seeking a self-motivated, quality-focused Medical Lab Scientist to join our team. As a Medical Lab Scientist at Regions Hospital, you will join an innovative and collaborative group of professionals in our newly remodeled laboratory designed for ergonomics and workflow. Our team has also been engaged in developing our new laboratory information system designed to provide efficiency and patient safety.  Your work will support Regions Hospital as well as six other suburban hospitals and over twenty clinics in our network.

As a member of a technical work team in the Clinical Laboratory you will perform laboratory tests in the section assigned:

  • Assist in the implementation of methodologies, participate in the training of new personnel and any student clinical rotations.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of training programs for new personnel and students: Assist with directing personnel by serving as a charge tech.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, biology, or other science   related field.  Advanced Degree or training (Masters in Sciences or Clinical Specialty) may substitute for preferred certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

Successful completion of a Clinical rotation in an approved program that qualifies for ASCP certification or equivalent.

Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Certification with ASCP or equivalent agency or eligible preferred
