About this role

The Dietary Aide performs a variety of patient food service and dish duties as well as other related tasks that includes:

  • Prepares food trays for general and therapeutic diets.
  • Prepares and delivers items as requested by patients or departments.
  • Assists in preparing and plating salads, desserts and nourishments.
  • Maintains tray line in a clean, neat, and organized manner.
  • Prepares special diet foods as necessary
  • Delivers food carts to patient care units. Returns cars to kitchen at designated times.
  • Prepares tables for catering events according to requests.
  • Works hospital cafeteria food line and restocks condiments and food as needed.
  • Loads and washes dishes in dishwasher or pot sink.
  • Puts clean dishes and utensils away.
  • Disposes of trash and garbage in appropriate manner.

Work Schedule:

  • 2-3 shifts a week
  • Shifts possibilities are:
  • Mon-Sun 4p-7:30p
    Sat 7:15a-12:15p
    Sun 7:30a-1:30p

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in hospital food preparation preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge preferred
