About this role

POS-30507

Are you passionate about building communities through a modern community everywhere approach? Are you deeply familiar with the nuances of community platforms like Reddit and passionate about cultivating genuine, trust-based relationships with community members? Do you excel at balancing proactive engagement with data-driven strategy and operational execution? If so, you may be the perfect fit for this role.

As part of the HubSpot Community team, you will be a primary steward of HubSpot’s presence and engagement across key third-party platforms, with a significant emphasis on Reddit. Your core mission is to foster and scale a positive, helpful, and transparent presence, driving authentic connections and ensuring conversations include up to date product information.

This role requires someone who understands the human-first approach required to succeed in independent communities and can build scalable processes to support contributor growth and create a world class community experience regardless of platform.

What You'll Get To Do

  • Steer the Reddit Strategy & Execution: Play a key role in the strategy for HubSpot’s engagement on Reddit, specifically taking responsibility for the direct community management and moderation of r/hubspot, ensuring it remains a valuable and compliant resource.

  • Drive Unowned Community Engagement: Actively listen, monitor, and respond to conversations across target communities to provide value, accurate product information, and human-first connection.

  • Proactively Cultivate Influence: Strategically initiate discussions, run relevant community campaigns (e.g., AMAs), and cultivate relationships with influential users and community managers.

  • Develop the Community Champions Network: Champion an advocacy-first approach to building, managing, and retaining a loyal network of advocates and power users in unowned communities, ensuring this program is seamlessly integrated into the broader advocacy strategy.

  • Content Curation & Creation: Collaborate with internal content teams to create and curate relevant content tailored for consumption within specific third-party communities, ensuring it aligns with platform norms (e.g., non-promotional, high-value).

  • Mentorship & Internal Enablement: Mentor internal volunteers, helping them become knowledgeable and effective Reddit super users who can contribute authentically to community discussions.

  • Social Listening & Escalation: Conduct daily social listening to identify emerging trends, address negative sentiment proactively, and flag urgent product, company, or brand escalations to relevant internal teams across HubSpot.

  • Measure & Optimize: Track key metrics related to sentiment, engagement, response time, and champion growth to measure the program's effectiveness and make data-driven recommendations.

What We're Looking For

  • Expertise in Third-Party Community Dynamics: Proven, deep familiarity with the inner workings and cultural norms of platforms like Reddit, with a demonstrated track record of successful engagement in unowned spaces.

  • Community Management Experience: History of developing, managing, and moderating online communities, preferably for a B2B SaaS or technology company.

  • Focus on Trust and Value: Ability to facilitate human-first connections, leading with trust, transparency, and value rather than overtly promotional tactics.

  • Operational Excellence: Relish taking complex and ambiguous operational challenges (like scaling community response or internal mentorship) and bringing them structure and consistency.

  • Data-Driven Approach: Highly proactive in identifying insights from community activity (social listening data) and translating those insights into actionable strategies.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Proven ability to drive impact across multiple internal teams (e.g., Marketing, Product, Support) by effectively communicating the voice and needs of the external community.

  • Adaptability & Ownership: Passionate about solving problems and capable of adapting quickly to the evolving needs of high-growth digital communities.
