Job Overview

The Sourcing Specialist develops and implements sourcing strategies to meet raw material needs throughout the Business Unit.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different and you’ll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you’ll make a difference by: 

  • Leading sourcing of major commodity items for the Business Unit.  
  • Analyzing potential suppliers in our market.  
  • Working with our corporate sourcing team on cost savings projects.  
  • Evaluating proposals from vendors and negotiating within budgetary limitations.  
  • Working with Product Engineers to develop cost effective product components.  
  • Working closely with manufacturing management to ensure inventory goals are met.  
  • Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance and leading improvement efforts. 
     

What will help you thrive in this role?


Bachelor of Science Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering General, or technical field (required) 

3-5 years of experience in a materials role involving sourcing activities for a manufacturing operation (required)  

Ability to read and interpret engineering prints and drawings (required) 

Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.  

Familiarity with Quality systems, processes, and requirements.  

Demonstrated negotiations experience.  

Strong analytical skills.
