Job Summary:

At HUB24, we are on a mission to transform the financial services landscape by building innovative platforms that empower financial advisers and make quality advice more accessible and affordable for all Australians. As a Data Engineer within our Licensee team, you'll play a key role in shaping and enhancing the HUBconnect Licensee product, leveraging your expertise in data engineering to lead a greenfield Databricks implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Product and Delivery teams to onboard new customers and interpret their data needs.
  • Translate business requirements into robust development, implementation, and integration solutions across the HUBconnect Licensee product.
  • Design, develop, and enhance ETL processes and data transformation pipelines.
  • Partner with testers, analysts, business stakeholders, and technical leads across the business to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Provide ongoing support for existing systems and processes, including participation in a shared after-hours support roster.
  • Upskill in modern data technologies such as Databricks and DBT, with opportunities to contribute to full-stack development and broaden your engineering capabilities.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data engineering, including 3+ years’ hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Data Engineer or similar role, with a track record of delivering scalable data solutions.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Databricks, including Spark and Delta Lake.
  • Strong understanding of data lakehouse architecture and design principles
  • DBT experience is highly regarded
  • Advanced proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions and mentor other engineers.Familiarity with Git and Azure DevOps for version control and CI/CD processes.
  • Experience working within an Agile (SCRUM) development environment.
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours application support as part of a rotating roster.
