The US Brand and Employee Experience role plays a pivotal role in shaping, delivering, and optimizing the organization’s internal and external events & activation strategy. Working within the US Brand and Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Marketing team, the role focuses on creating an events strategy for the US business to deliver impactful, high-quality events and experiences that strengthen brand positioning, drive client engagement, and support commercial growth. 

This role is pivotal within the US Marketing team to help deliver best in class experiences for our clients and employees. The role holder will lead the execution of strategic events in partnership with the US campaigns team, global marketing, and external agencies.  It is an opportunity to lead a high-performing team and deliver high impact experiences that provide meaningful value to our clients and drive business outcomes.

As our Senior Marketing Manager - Business and Brand Experiences you will:

  • Develop and deliver an internal & external event strategy for the US in line with overarching CIB & Brand objectives 
  • Create strategic platforms for events/event series, to streamline and build proprietary experiences that are identifiable and differentiated 
  • Develop experiential creative and branding, with the wider marketing services team, that delivers targeted and impactful messaging aligned to our target audiences
  • Create comprehensive event toolkits (templates, playbooks, guidelines, content packs) to ensure consistent execution of events across all cities, and for virtual/digital events 
  • Manage end-to-end delivery of events and roadshows, including planning, development, stakeholder alignment, vendor management, logistics, and post-event analysis  
  • Create best in class client and employee journey’s end to end. Owning the experience from initial invitation, through to delegate experience, both physically or digitally across touchpoints (Incorporating virtual and hybrid formats, allowing for global reach and flexibility in attendance)
  • Drive content delivery and production at events, in collaboration with other teams (including Comms), to maximize content during and post-event (e.g. filming of stakeholders and delegates, incorporating the creation of podcasts, key take-aways for wider circulation, including for social media purposes or client comms)
  • Run the Events Council operations and create recommendations for the Events Council on a monthly basis.  Deliver the operating rhythm for the council, including all documentation and touchpoints
  • Socialize events/experience strategy, calendar and process to executives, stakeholders and broader internal teams as appropriate
  • Deliver employee experiences that build trust and galvanize our people behind our values, culture and purpose
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure events align with commercial priorities and deliver measurable impact
  • Identify and prioritize event, sponsorship or activation opportunities that authentically align with our brand and our core audiences
  • Utilize digital platforms for promotion (social media, email marketing, webinars) and employ advanced event management software for real-time analytics and tracking
  • Oversee budget management for US events, ensuring cost efficiency and maximising return on investment
  • Implement best practices for pre-event promotion, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up to enhance lead generation and client engagement
  • Track, analyse, and report on event performance, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Lead a team of event marketing specialists and roadshow experts, providing leadership, prioritization, and professional development
  • Build strong relationships with regional and local events and marketing & business teams, ensuring collaboration and alignment, ensuring cohesive marketing efforts with the client/customer at the heart of decisions
  • Act as the main liaison between the global marketing & events team and local market teams to ensure smooth coordination, knowledge sharing, and brand consistency
  • Collaborate with full marketing team to ensure all events reinforce the global brand platform and adhere to brand guidelines
  • Foster a culture of creativity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the events function
  • Promote Agile Principles and foster a collaborative working environment that reflects HSBC’s values
  • Manage relationships with external event agencies, suppliers, and strategic partners to ensure high-quality delivery and innovation

You'll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Marketing experience, with a focus on commercial marketing within global banking or financial services
  • Proven experience in planning and delivering large-scale, high-profile events
  • Strong understanding of event marketing best practices, including audience engagement, lead generation, and measurement 
  • Ensure all events comply with relevant governance, risk, and compliance standards 
  • Skilled in developing toolkits and frameworks for scalable, consistent event delivery 
  • Experience managing budgets, negotiating with suppliers, and driving cost efficiencies
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in virtual, hybrid, and in-person event formats
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills within global, matrixed organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; MBA or Master’s in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.
