<p>Why join us</p><p>At HSBC, the Real Estate Services department (RES) is an internal corporate function responsible for managing the bank’s property portfolio and related real-estate-focused activities within the Bank.</p><p>The Opportunity: </p><p>The role reports to the GSC CAO and Market Head of Real Estate Services (RES) who is the functional lead to set strategy, budget objectives & provide governance and oversight to this role in collaboration with the GSC CAO.<br>The role will provide governance and oversight to RES activities delivered for GSC, including Workplace Experience Services (Facilities Management, Property and Asset Management, Workplace Management & Transformation,); Future of Work Transformation, and ESG/Sustainable Operations.<br>The role holder will support managing the expansion of RES related utilities<br>The role is required to work in collaboration with the market RES team to align with market RES strategy</p><p><br>What you’ll do: </p><p>Supporting real estate as a key business enabler, through the delivery of innovative and forward thinking initiatives relating to the portfolio which supports the business needs across Portfolio Optimisation, Workplace and Facilities Management Solutions, Retail Solutions, Enviornmental, Social & Goverance (ESG), Critical Facilities, Future of Work Transformation and Risk Management<br>Be responsible for Real Estate Services regulatory compliance related matter.<br>Have an active and ongoing learning focus on ESG/Sustainable Operations to ensure the increased understanding, knowledge and adoption of energy efficient, renewable energy, waste management and recycling, sustainable diets and resource consumption activities and certifications (LEED, WELL and WiredScore).<br>Support innovative ‘end to end’ customer focused solutions that optimise the banks’ portfolio across the RES function’s themes of data, innovation and technology.<br>Support engagement with regulators to understand current and future regulatory requirements related to all Real Estate Services capabilities<br>Engage and develop strong relationships with stakeholders across GSC to ensure their service needs are met<br>Contribute to building internal staff knowledge and awareness of ESG/Sustainable operation approaches and achievements and how lessons could be leveraged across the stakeholder ecosystem.<br>Manage all 3rd party service providers and associated contractors to deliver Property and Asset Management services<br>Continually reassess the operational risks and controls associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology.</p><p>What you will need to succeed in the role: </p><p>Professional qualification from a recognized university in Engineering or Facilities Management.<br>Experienced Real Estate Services, with examples including Workplace Experience, Project Management and Future of Work Transformation<br>Ability to develop trusted adviser status with key Executive stakeholders through SME expertise, industry experience and track record; ability to understand desired Business outcomes across the matrix and ability to translate in to well communicated and clearly articulated Real Estate Services outcomes<br>Prior experience of working in a global matrixed organisation is desirable<br>Knowledge and understanding of the HSBC Group organization is desirable<br>Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively across matrix management<br>Strong financial acumen and commerciality skills<br>General understanding of ESG/Sustainable Operations and an active interest in further building this knowledge</p><p>What additional skills will be good to have? </p><p>Broad and comprehensive understanding of concepts and principles within multiple disciplines or a fast-changing discipline<br>a sound understanding of a value unit / product / region / legal entity, alongside a good understanding of the industry and the challenges and changes in the sector<br>Covers a wide range of activities that require evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated perhaps novel situations<br>Seeks ways of improving and adapting day to day departmental activities and will actively seek authority to implement them.<br>Latitude to make decisions outside of established procedures but within a policy framework. Broad guidelines are available. Role implements strategy set by others.<br>Implements business plans through own team and is accountable for results.<br>The role holder must possess a high level of sensitivity to the audience, be able to modify the beliefs and opinions of others, and negotiate with significant latitude for the final outcome.<br>The role requires the ability to negotiate and influence within their team with a high level of influence.<br>Effectively engage with Business leads and PiC’s to associate with RES strategies, deliverables, and Future of Work Transformation.</p><p> </p>
