The Organization

Houston Community College (HCC) is composed of 14 Centers of Excellence and numerous satellite centers that serve the diverse communities in the Greater Houston area by preparing individuals to live and work in an increasingly international and technological society. HCC is one of the country’s largest singly-accredited, open-admission, community colleges offering associate degrees, certificates, workforce training, and lifelong learning opportunities.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED and some college courses. Tutor must have completed at least one college course in the subject area being tutored with a grade of A (photocopy of transcript must accompany application)

EXPERIENCE: Prefer one (1) year work experience in post-secondary institution tutoring setting.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications 

Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills

Possess good interpersonal skills to perform successfully in a large multicultural environment

Ability to be well organized, task-oriented and flexible

Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends
