Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Group Concierge Intern:
- Gain first-hand sales knowledge working with clients on the different Hornblower Cruises and Events brand experiences in Chicago.
- Learn the basics of business communication and professional conduct.
- Develop your communication, organization and time-management skills as well as strengthen your self-confidence
- Address all questions and concerns for booked clients
- Finalize client bookings by securing final payments and event logistics
- Work side by side with Account Managers & Event Coordinator
- Work directly with clients on their event details, schedule of events & logistics
- Participating in Meet and Greet sessions with the Executive Team Members and various Corporate Directors
Essential Functions:
Sales/Client Services
- Utilize learned “Sales Skills” to explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from guests on every call
- Answer incoming calls promptly and professionally
- Obtain guest information and accurately enter orders into reservations systems
- Deliver prepared sales talks to finalize events
- Other duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor on duty

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Must earn an Associates or bachelor’s degree in Sales, Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality, Tourism Management or any Business-related field. Candidates earning their bachelor’s should preferably be in their sophomore, junior or senior year.
- Must have a minimum of (1) year guest services experience; call center/ reservation experience a plus
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills- expression and comprehension skills
- Must be reliable, responsible, punctual and dependable
- Must be available to work 30-40 hours per week, including required weekend availability: schedule is subject to change weekly according to operational needs
- Must possess a service orientation
- Required to use computers and computer applications such as Microsoft office
- Must be careful about details and thorough in completing tasks
- Must deal calmly and effectively with high-stress situations
