SERVICE DESK TECHNICIAN - INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES - CORPORATE OFFICE (AUSTIN, MN)

Please Note** This position will support department business hours of 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be flexible dependent upon business needs, as well as the incumbent's needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides technical computer support and training to internal computer users, which is primarily accomplished via the telephone.
  • Assists internal computer users with resolutions to questions and problems regarding computer software, hardware, and services.
  • Identifies, researches, and provides solutions for these issues to the satisfaction of the computer users’ requirements.
  • Coordinates the referral of difficult questions and problems to appropriate technical, professional or service personnel.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  •  Two years post high school technical education or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and follow-through.
  • Demonstrated pattern of initiative.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and balance multiple tasks at once.
  • Knowledge of PC hardware.
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and Windows.
  • Basic understanding of computer networks and components, including Ethernet, wireless, and TCP/IP.
  • Must be able to lift personal computer equipment up to 50 lbs.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $22.00-$30.75 per hour, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
