Fontanini, located in McCook, IL, just outside of Chicago, is seeking a Freezer Forklift Driver for shipping department operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a food manufacturing or cold-storage environment and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Position Summary: Freezer Shipping Forklift Drivers are responsible for operating powered industrial equipment in freezer conditions(-10 degrees F) to safely stage, load, and move finished products while maintaining product integrity and meeting shipping requirements

Pay: $23.00 per hour, with an additional $1.00 per hour for shift differential

Position Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment in freezer and shipping areas.

• Stage, load, and unload finished product according to shipping requirements.

• Perform visual inspection of pallets and packaging prior to shipment.

• Verify product labels, quantities, and lot codes to ensure shipping accuracy.

• Complete all required shipping and inventory paperwork.

• Adhere to all food safety practices, including reporting any deviations from standards.

• Follow all safety and company policies, including forklift and freezer safety procedures.

• Participate in safety and quality trainings.

• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse setting, preferably food manufacturing.

• Forklift experience or ability to become forklift certified.

• Understanding of GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).

• Ability to read and understand labels, shipping documents, and load requirements.

• Ability to perform essential functions of the job in a freezer environment.
