The University is now looking for high caliber professionals to join our Building Services - Development Team to act as primary support to the Head of Building Services - Development in overall planning and design of building services systems for existing and new developments to meet the University's long-term requirements in developing an attractive and sustainable campus for higher education studies through proactive planning and provision of high quality and effective professional services.

The appointee will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assist in master planning of the building services systems for system extension, upgrade and improvement for the University’s long-term requirements to meet the continuous campus development and strategy plan as well to enhance the system resilience for critical business continuity;
  • Assist in developing sustainable building services solutions by using the best practices and latest technology to new and existing developments in energy, carbon, water and environment;
  • Assist in managing various projects of the University to ensure that the projects are accomplished on time, within budget and to the required quality;
  • Liaise with all internal and external stakeholders in accomplishing project objectives, and provide technical support and expert advice on discipline-related issues to other members of the project team, as well as to in-house staff of other sections;
  • Assist in consolidating project requirements from various stakeholders in finalizing project briefs, coordinating with the project team to produce preliminary and detailed designs, tender/construction documents, and managing the procurement and construction process;
  • Monitor the quality of construction work to ensure good quality of work and to ensure the installations are maintained in accordance with the operational requirements; and
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by senior management.

 
Applicants should have a degree in Electrical, Building Services or related Engineering disciplines with at least 10 years of relevant experience in building services design and project management of building and infrastructure development.  A good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese as well as AutoCAD application is essential. The ideal candidate should have good analytical and organizational skills, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently.  Being a member of HKIE, CIBSE, IET or other equivalent professional bodies is an advantage. Solid experience in developing and managing university/ institutional buildings, laboratories and/or hospitals and specialize in electrical design are also advantages.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
