The Office of Mainland Affairs (OMA) at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) invites applications for the position of Assistant Manager. We are seeking a motivated individual to support our team in advancing HKUST’s Mainland strategy through collaborative projects and effective administrative coordination, fostering a spirit of patriotism and commitment to integrating with national development.
 

Key Responsibilities:

As a valued member of our team, the Assistant Manager will be involved in:

  • Project Support: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of key initiatives and events that align with HKUST’s Mainland strategy.
  • Administrative Coordination: Prepare reports, budgets, and committee papers; maintain accurate records; and ensure the smooth implementation of Mainland-related policies and activities.
  • Communication: Develop and disseminate communications to promote university initiatives, ensuring clarity and alignment with institutional goals.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with various university departments to facilitate cohesive project implementation and teamwork, ensuring alignment and seamless execution of Mainland-related initiatives, projects, and events.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake other tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the office’s mission and upholding HKUST’s core values, including a commitment to love the country and Hong Kong.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in project coordination, administration, or stakeholder engagement is required, with a preference for candidates who have substantial experience.
  • A solid understanding of and commitment to Mainland China’s higher education and research landscape.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua).
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
