The Office of Knowledge Transfer at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology is looking for a suitable appointee for the position of Assistant Manager. The appointee will primarily manage the administration of research funding programs and provide secretariat support and liaison services. The appointee working closely with HKUST Research Institutes/Centres, Schools and Departments. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of funding programs; conduct initial application assessments, analyze project data, and consolidate reports to facilitate funding disbursements;
  • Provide secretariat services for committees and meetings;
  • Liaison with internal stakeholders and external industry partners, and service providers;
  • Planning and execution of seminars, workshops, and the university community programs;
  • Providing administrative and logistics support to various programs and internship programs for students;
  • Oversee content updates for official websites and social media channels; and
  • Performing other duties as assigned from time to time.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant post-qualification work experience. Preference will be given to candidates with solid experience and a high level of familiarity with a government or university setting and University-Industry collaboration. The appointee should be mature, self-motivated and attentive to details; possess a service-oriented mindset, the ability to work independently and as a team player and handle multi-tasks, as well as with good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. An excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua), high proficiency in computer and MS Office applications and numerical accuracy are essential. The appointee should also be able to deal with people from different backgrounds and cultures. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
