The Academic Registry is one of the crucial administrative functions providing best-practice academic and student related administration in support of the University’s mission in teaching, research and social-economic development of Hong Kong. Reporting directly to the Academic Registrar, the Assistant Academic Registrar (Student Systems, Data and Reporting) is a key position in the University’s Academic Registry and a member of the Registry management team.

Role Overview

The post-holder will lead the development and management of student systems, data, and reporting services. This includes:

  • Acting as the primary liaison between the Academic Registry and the central IT department.
  • Managing system administration, access control, maintenance, and end-user training.
  • Driving the adoption of best-practice processes and innovative technologies, including AI, to enhance Registry operations.
  • Leading and contributing to major projects, such as the implementation of a new Course Management System and the future selection and development of a new Student Information System (SIS).

The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical specialists and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree or above, with substantial relevant work experience (preferably in higher education).
  • Proven track record in IT systems management and project delivery.
  • Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, management, analytical, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in English and Chinese is required; experience in Hong Kong is an advantage.

Contract Duration: 2 years, renewable.

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
