We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Science and Technology:



Major Duties and Responsibilities 

The appointee will mainly assist the research team in a research project "Bridging the Simulation-to-Reality Gap: An AI-Based Investigation into the Correlation of Scaled-Down Laboratory and Field GPR Data for Pipeline Leak Detection" (R6921).  The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Conducting literature review;

  • Carrying out data pre-processing and post-processing;

  • Assisting in documentation; and

  • Carrying out other research activities and duties as instructed by the Principal Investigator(s) or supervisor(s).

     

 

Candidates

Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A Master’s degree or above in Material Science, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Science or a related discipline (for Part-time Research Assistant I);

  • A Bachelor’s degree or above in Material Science, Civil Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Science or a related discipline (for Part-time Research Assistant II);

  • Related research experience in coded computing, artificial intelligence, non-destructive testing, and material testing allocation will be preferred;

  • Good writing skills in research articles; and

  • Self-motivated, strong learning capability, and fluent in English.

     

 

Terms and Conditions for Appointment

Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract.  Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
