We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, team-oriented Scientist in Bioinformatics/Data Science to join our team and contribute to the expansion of Hologic Diagenode's expertise in biomarker-based predictive models.

What to Expect:

  • Work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team carrying out Epigenetics-related analyses from Next-Generation Sequencing data.
  • Manage projects and coordinate project progress with other departments.
  • Interact directly with customers and lend scientific expertise in order to understand and assess customer needs, communicate progress, explain significance of results and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Generate professional technical reports for delivery in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to the set up and improvement of bioinformatics and data analysis pipelines.
  • Understand the IT infrastructure and participate in its constant improvement.
  • Provide input on possibilities to improve customer’s experience and overall efficiency of processes in order to optimize the Bioinformatics team’s performance (e.g. automation of pipelines).

What we expect: 

  • Bioinformatician/Data Scientist with a strong level of practical experience (PhD or industry) in the development of algorithms and analytical tools to interrogate biological data
  • Experience in bioinformatics programming and statistics environments, including Linux scripting (e.g. Bash) R, RStudio and job queueing systems is a plus
  • Experience with NGS data analysis
  • Background in machine learning is a plus
  • Fluent written and spoken English language, any additional languages are a plus
  • Enjoys working on multiple projects in parallel in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills: customers, colleagues and reports
