WHO WE ARE

Holland Hall was established in 1922 and currently serves approximately 1,000 preK through 12th-grade students in a coeducational setting. THIS POSITION

This position is an evening (2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.) hourly position responsible for the performance of routine safety and security functions including building checks, personnel safety, and event support. Provides courteous and considerate assistance to all students, staff and visitors. Responds to vehicle accidents, criminal behavior, fire or other emergencies and writes reports as needed. Provides traffic control for daily, evening and weekend events as needed.

POSITION DUTIES:

• Proactively patrol and monitor campus grounds, building exterior and interior, both in a vehicle and on foot

• Provide courteous and considerate assistance to all students, staff, and visitors

• Control of vehicle and pedestrian traffic both on campus and on 81st Street

• Control of student and building safety and security, by conducting regular foot and vehicle patrols

• Involved in emergencies and emergency planning

• Perform routine building and parking lot security checks

• Provide vehicle assistance to students, staff, and visitors, such as assisting with a flat tire or battery

• Respond to vehicle accidents and writes reports as needed

• Respond to theft, fire, and other emergencies. Writes reports as needed

• Provides security and traffic control for special events

• Provides security for special events as needed

• Assist emergency response units on campus as needed

• Other duties as required to fulfill the overall mission of Holland Hall

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

• A high school graduate or GED

REQUIRED LICENSING:

• Must have up to date CLEET armed security license.

• Valid driver's license and the ability to meet facility insurance requirements.

PREVIOUS RELATED EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in law enforcement/security required

EXPECTATIONS / REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE

• Ability to pass annual gun range qualification and quarterly range practice minimum

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to prepare written reports and maintain accurate records

• Ability to work with various school and volunteer organizations in a collaborative and friendly manner

• Ability to communicate courteously and tactfully with student, staff and parents

• Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet facility insurance requirements

• Articulate information in an emergency situation

• Visual acuity necessary to observe and comprehend movement of individuals

• Regular attendance is required for successful completion of job duties

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Ability to work standing / bending for several hours at a time including walking the campus to complete building security checks.

• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds when necessary

• Good close, distance, and color vision and depth perception

• Duties may be performed outdoors in all weather conditions, including exposure to extreme heat and cold
