Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• In partnership with the Foundation President, the Sr. Director of Board & External Relations provides strategic leadership for the governance, engagement, and effective functioning of the Hoag Hospital Foundation Board of Directors and its committees
• Designs and executes a comprehensive Board relations strategy that supports strong governance practices, deepens board engagement, and advances the Foundation’s mission and strategic priorities
• Serves as the primary liaison to the Hoag Hospital Foundation Board of Directors, partnering closely with the Foundation President and senior leadership
• Plans, coordinates, and supports all Board and committee meetings, activities, and events, including regular meetings, committee meetings, Board retreats, and official correspondence
• Oversees all Board operations, including agenda development, preparation and distribution of materials, meeting logistics, documentation, and maintenance of official Board records
• Ensures Board and committee work aligns with an annual governance calendar and fulfills fiduciary, compliance, and oversight responsibilities
• Facilitates Board engagement and development, fostering collaborative and productive relationships among board members, committee members, Foundation leadership, and external stakeholders
• Provides board members with timely information, resources, and support to enable informed decision-making and meaningful participation
• Ensures Board and committee activities are accurately documented, well-organized, and appropriately archived in accordance with Foundation policies and best practices
