Senior Estimator

<p>At Hill, smart pricing leads to strong delivery. As our Senior Estimator, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our future pipeline—leading tenders, producing detailed cost plans, and ensuring each bid reflects the Hill standard for accuracy, insight and commercial strength.</p><p>You’ll work across some of our most complex and high-profile residential schemes, collaborating with internal teams and the supply chain to produce competitive, well-informed bids that support successful delivery.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul> <li>Lead cost planning and estimating on a range of tenders and negotiated projects</li> <li>Produce Bills of Quantities from first principles using Causeway Estimating</li> <li>Review drawings, specifications and technical reports to inform pricing</li> <li>Collaborate with Pre-Construction, Commercial, Technical and Delivery teams</li> <li>Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to issue enquiries and review returns</li> <li>Prepare control documents and input design, statutory and planning costs</li> <li>Attend site visits and record logistics, risks and pricing conditions</li> <li>Participate in bid meetings (launch, mid-term, settlement) and client presentations</li> <li>Support post-tender negotiations and contribute to value engineering discussions</li> <li>Handover successful bids to the delivery team with full documentation and clarity</li> <li>Mentor Assistant or Trainee Estimators, supporting their development</li> <li>Ensure compliance with Hill’s ISO9001 Quality Management System and Health &amp; Safety policies</li></ul><p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p><ul> <li>Significant estimating experience within residential or housing-led construction</li> <li>Proficient in Causeway Estimating and confident producing BQs from first principles</li> <li>Strong understanding of building regulations, procurement and pre-construction strategy</li> <li>Commercially astute with excellent attention to detail</li> <li>Confident reviewing tender documentation and identifying risks and opportunities</li> <li>Skilled in stakeholder engagement with clients, consultants and supply chain</li> <li>Strong time management and ability to handle multiple projects</li> <li>Experience leading on bids and contributing to team improvement initiatives</li> <li>Understanding of sustainability standards such as CfSH, BREEAM, and Secured by Design is desirable</li></ul><p><strong>What you’ll get:</strong></p><ul> <li>26 days holiday </li> <li>Private healthcare and wellbeing platform </li> <li>Hill Incentive scheme and retail discounts </li> <li>Volunteering days and continuous learning opportunities </li> <li>A high-performing and supportive team culture</li> <li>competitive salary and package</li></ul><p><strong>Why Hill?</strong></p><p>At Hill, we offer more than just a job — we offer the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact.
