<p><strong>We build places with purpose—and that starts with strong leadership.</strong></p><p>As a Senior Development Manager at Hill, you’ll lead complex, high-value residential and joint venture projects from post-acquisition through to pre-construction handover. You’ll bring strategic oversight, commercial expertise and confident coordination to every stage of the development process—guiding teams, mitigating risks and turning great ideas into real progress.</p><p>This is a senior leadership role where you’ll manage £20m+ schemes, mentor junior colleagues, and act as the lead voice on technical, legal and planning matters—ensuring every project aligns with Hill’s quality, vision and values.</p><p><strong>What you’ll do:</strong></p><ul> <li>Lead a portfolio of land-led and JV schemes across acquisition, planning and pre-delivery</li> <li>Manage key programmes, budgets, appraisals and risk registers with clarity and confidence</li> <li>Oversee consultant teams, ensuring deliverables meet scope, timelines and Hill’s standards</li> <li>Coordinate internal departments—Technical, Sales, Commercial, Finance, Land—to deliver fully aligned projects</li> <li>Drive planning strategies, oversee submissions and guide multi-phase delivery approaches</li> <li>Validate financial modelling, challenge assumptions and ensure commercial alignment</li> <li>Support bids, acquisitions and planning appeals with accurate data and well-structured analysis</li> <li>Lead project handovers, ensuring teams are set up for success from the start</li> <li>Represent Hill in meetings with landowners, planning authorities and clients</li> <li>Act as APC Supervisor and mentor to Development Managers, Assistants and Trainees</li> <li>Contribute to business development conversations and the identification of new opportunities</li> <li>Champion Hill’s values and high-performance culture across your team and region</li></ul><p><strong>What we’re looking for:</strong></p><ul> <li>Full MRICS or MRTPI qualification</li> <li>Significant experience in residential development leadership</li> <li>Proven track record managing projects from acquisition to delivery</li> <li>Skilled in viability appraisals, financial planning and commercial reporting</li> <li>Confident leading internal and external stakeholders across complex programmes</li> <li>Strategic thinker with a strong eye for detail and delivery</li> <li>Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills</li> <li>A collaborative leader who brings others with them</li></ul><p><strong>What you’ll get:</strong></p><ul> <li>26 days holiday </li> <li>Private healthcare and wellbeing platform </li> <li>Hill Incentive scheme and retail discounts </li> <li>Volunteering days and continuous learning opportunities </li> <li>A high-performing and supportive team culture</li> <li>competitive salary and package</li></ul><p><strong>Why Hill?</strong></p><p>At Hill, we offer more than just a job — we offer the opportunity to make a real and lasting impact.
