Summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Field Support Representative (FSR) to provide on-site Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) for the Tactical Automated Security System (TASS) and other Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) within the USAFE-AFAFRICA Area of Responsibility (AOR). The FSR will be responsible for sustaining the operational readiness of the systems in Djibouti and Kenya. This role requires hands-on technical expertise to perform all maintenance, operator training, and system administration. The FSR serves as the on-site technical expert, ensuring system availability meets or exceeds the 98% operational availability (Ao) requirement.

 

Field Service Representatives (FSRs) are expected to work a schedule of six 10-hour days per week to support operational requirements and ensure timely completion of assignments.

What You Will Do

  • Provide organizational-level CLS, including unscheduled maintenance and scheduled Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) for all installed TASS and fixed-site IDS equipment.
  • Respond to and resolve system failures within established timelines, being physically present within one hour for catastrophic failures and restoring partial functionality within 24 hours.
  • Deploy, configure, modify, and maintain all IDS components, including TASS (Version 6.0.1+), Honeywell Vindicator, sensors, cameras (PTZ and fixed), and annunciators.
  • Provide on-site operational system training, refresher training, On-the-Job Training (OJT), and TASS administrator training to Security Forces (SF) operators.
  • Perform system administration on annunciators, ensuring maps are up-to-date and the system meets cybersecurity requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of all IDS aspects, including detection zones, fence lines, power supplies, and network connections.
  • Document all maintenance actions and report system performance data, including Reliability and Maintainability (RAM) metrics, to support trend analysis.
  • Support site reconfiguration tasks, site surveys, and the installation/de-installation of IDS equipment as directed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of on-site Government Furnished Property (GFP), including spares and test equipment.

What We Are Looking For

  • 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field;  or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Clearance: Posses and maintains an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining and configuring TASS and/or other military Integrated Base Defense Security Systems (IBDSS).
  • Ability to work independently in austere, OCONUS environments and support non-standard duty hours.
  • Certified as Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+).
  • Experience providing technical training and working directly with military personnel.

Preferred: Bonus Points For...

  • 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 10 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Clearance: Possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
  • Prior experience supporting USAFE-AFAFRICA or USAFCENT missions.
  • Experience with the specific camera and sensor models listed in the PWS (e.g., MiC-9000i/7000i, Bosch BVMS).
  • Familiarity with Air Force maintenance and logistics procedures.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to travel throughout Africa in support of customer and mission requirements, including movement between office, operational, and field environments. The employee must be capable of performing duties in both urban and remote locations, which may involve exposure to austere conditions. The role requires the ability to walk over uneven terrain, stand for extended periods during maintenance or technical activities, and climb stairs or ladders as needed. The employee must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver tools, test equipment, and system components weighing up to 40 pounds. The position also requires the ability to operate in varying environmental conditions—including high heat, humidity, dust, and dry climates—and to work extended or irregular hours in support of mission objectives.
