Job Title: International Logistics Specialist
Job Summary:
The International Logistics Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and tracking the movements of goods across borders, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations. The ultimate goal of the role is to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of products from our suppliers and to our customers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- International order management, including inventory availability and customer service.
- Securing inventory availability for global customers through work with Supply Planning team
- Planning and implementing complex international shipment processes
- Negotiating with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents for best rates and routes
- Ensuring compliance with international import and export regulations
- Maintaining accurate documentation of all international transactions and shipments
- Coordinating with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of goods
- Resolving issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer service
- Monitoring and analyzing logistical procedures to identify areas for improvement or innovation
- Tracking and tracing international shipments and updating customers on the status of their shipments
- Coordinating and ensuring efficient customs clearance of goods
- Investigating and managing claims for lost or damaged shipments
- Preparing and presenting reports to senior management on logistics performance and strategies
Expected Areas of Competence (i.e., knowledge, skills, and abilities)
- Proven experience as an International Logistics Specialist or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of global logistics operations and international trade regulations.
- Familiarity with various types of shipping documentation such as HTS codes, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work with logistics software and systems.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Education/Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience, with a demonstrated understanding of international logistics operations, customs regulations, and supply chain management.
Travel Requirements
Up to 10%
8 am - 5 pm daily with flexibility to work with different time zones
