QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
Experience and Training
- Minimum five years’ experience managing warehouse facilities, distribution, and knowledge of inventory control systems.
Knowledge, Skills, Ability:
- Effective written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet, and inventory control software
- Ability to supervise other associates
- Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities
- Unmatched attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to perform under stressful situations
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights and weekends
- Certified Forklift operator
- Ability to pass physical aptitude test administered by HPU
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises multiple University warehouses
- Develops and implements policies, procedures and computerized inventory management system
- Oversees and participates in warehouse safety plan meeting OSHA standards.
- Manage the receipt, storage, retrieval and timely dispatch of goods
- Ensure workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock
- Plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organize special requirements for stock
- Coordinates scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups with Campus Enhancement team and HPU personnel
- Must have and maintain a valid NC Driver’s License.
- Must be able to operate HPU box truck for deliveries and pickups as needed.
- Handles multiple projects simultaneously; manages in the midst of occasional changing dynamics (time, location, people, etc.); effectively communicates and interacts with high profile individuals (administration, trustees, donors, university guests, VIFs, etc.)
- Maintains positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with students, students’ parents, faculty, co-workers and managers
- Must be able to supervise large groups of temporary workers.
- Coordinates furniture repair efforts with furniture vendors and Campus Enhancement
- Research, develop, negotiate and implements procedures for reducing freight and shipping costs of items.
- Other duties as assigned
