Job Title: Fitness Attendant
Department: Recreation Services
Location: Panther Commons Powerhouse & Wheelhouse
Pay Rate: $8.00/hour
Length of Time: Eligible for rehire on a semester basis.
Position Overview:
Fitness Attendants are responsible for supporting the daily operations and maintenance of the Powerhouse and Wheelhouse fitness facilities. This student staff member plays a key role in creating a welcoming, safe, and clean workout environment for all users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and monitor the Powerhouse and Wheelhouse facilities during scheduled shifts
- Greet and welcome all patrons entering the gym
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of fitness equipment and common areas
- Perform regular cleaning of equipment and workout spaces
- Submit maintenance and facility work orders as needed
- Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition and report any issues promptly
- Provide general assistance and information to gym users
- Promote a positive and inclusive environment for all students and guests
Qualifications:
- Must be a current High Point University student
- Reliable, responsible, and self-motivated
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Interest in fitness and recreation is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
