Job Title: Senior Store Manager

Reports To: District Sales Manager

SUMMARY
The Senior Store Manager oversees and is responsible for their home store and selected district store's sales efforts in each department and supervises overall operation to ensure efficiency and profitability. Enforces, conveys, and upholds the company's policies, goals, and standard to the store's sales team to meet sales goals and drive company growth. The Senior Store Manager consistently communicates with the District Sales Manager and the Store Support Center to carry out business initiatives and strategies.

Represents the brand in appearance, attitude, and professionalism portrayed to employees, customers, and the community. The Senior Store Manager is knowledgeable in each product area or department in our store. The Senior Store Manager is passionate about giving outstanding customer service and promoting the merchandise in stores.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The ability to travel to assigned district store(s), the Store Support Center, and DSM home location to drive business strategies, company growth, and sales goals.
  • Once a quarter, complete a Monday office day with the DSM at their DSMs home location to train in the overall goals and functions the DSM is responsible for.
  • Attend all District and Quarterly Meetings in person or via Teams to keep informed of company initiatives and goals.
  • Conduct/assist with any Store Manager interviews for candidates as needed. Drive the labor strategy of the organization to acquire top talent to drive sales and business initiatives.
  • Assist as a key point of contact for Operations project initiatives as needed.
  • Conduct store inventories in their assigned district stores, ensuring proper inventory management to meet business directives.
  • Conduct weekly Monday calls with assigned stores to keep a pulse on the store's efficiency, productivity, and any roadblocks that need to be worked through and resolved.
  • Manage and control the assets of the company by managing designated store(s).
  • Complete DSM store rating based on the current period schedule.
  • Manage and complete store worklist to ensure store efficiency.
  • Manage Soiled and Damage/Onesie Removal to drive safety requirements.
  • Directs and oversees entire sales efforts in designated store(s). Mentoring and training associates in sales strategies and skills to drive store growth.
  • Remain consistently acquainted with all aspects of the home store and assigned district stores including sales statistics, inventory and expenses that together produce profit.
  • Consults and collaborates with District Sales Manager as needed in establishing and enforcing policies, goals, and procedures.
  • Directs staff to ensure all responsibilities and standards in each department are completed.
  • Mentor and cultivate a team of outstanding Store Managers, Sales Associates, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
  • Carry out personnel recruiting, hiring, training, discipline, and evaluation. Drive labor strategy through payroll and mentoring.
  • Maintain proper security for the store. Partner with asset protection to reduce theft and shrink.
  • Communicates with District Sales Manager and keep them informed as to inventory movement.
  • Provides information and consistently and vigorously follows through on all marketing and advertising plans and stays aware of customer trends.
  • Keeps abreast of competition and new ideas and keeps informed on community related events, to take advantage of potential opportunities.
  • Produce and give extraordinary customer service highlighted in the customer service manual, including helping customers as they enter the store, and helping multiple customers during peak periods.
  • Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of internal control.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manages subordinate supervisors and non-management employees, including Sales Associates, Hub Drivers, Assistant Managers, and Managers in Training.
  • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 1 year in the Store Manager position at either Hibbett or City Gear with a favorable performance review rating of ''Meets Expectations'' or better.
  • Consistently meets or exceeds sales goals at home store location.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Analytical thinker with demonstrated business acumen.
  • Ability to problem solve and juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
