Job Description:
Cray Senior Customer Education Instructor
The Education Services team within the Advisory and Professional Services (A&PS) organization is looking for a Senior Customer Education Instructor focused on Cray to create and deliver to external audiences training content (ILT, vILT, WBT, self-paced labs, and video) and curriculum for high-end HPC solutions (e.g., HPE Cray Supercomputing, HPE Slingshot, and HPC storage). This role also requires administration of the HPC systems in the Technical Training Services lab. This focus of this role is for deliveries in Europe, but could also perform deliveries in other parts of the world.
This position is responsible for the delivery and possibly some creation of high-quality learning solutions and curricula for highly complex HPC products and has a unique mastery of and is a recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including HPC technologies, theories, and techniques. This role contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas in the technical training realm and provides highly innovative solutions. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams, and routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving team, business, and corporate objectives. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees.
Responsibilities
• Delivers highly complex and innovative learning solutions to a wide range of individual contributor s from entry-level to technically advanced, management, and executive audience to engage the learner, encourage participation, and produce desired outcomes.
• May assist/lead in the creation of instructional and delivery methods using various learning solutions and the latest, most innovative technologies, including coaching and acting as a subject matter expert in multiple content domains.
• Expertly manages a learning environment with limited advanced preparation, constructive feedback, and prediction of and response to learner needs.
• Establishes credibility by demonstrating mastery of solution content, providing relevant business examples, and helping learners apply learning to on-the-job situations and real-world problems.
• Anticipates and provides leadership to incorporate legal, ethical, and cultural issues relevant to solution delivery by acting as a role model and mentor.
• Develops an informal learning community and extends the learning relationship beyond the formal classroom.
• Contributes to the program management process, which may include needs assessment, solution selection, design, development, implementation, reporting, and continuous improvement and innovation of learning solutions.
• Drives alignment of development priorities with the needs of the company corporate and/or business/functions.
• Participates in cost-benefit and business impact analyses of alternative learning solutions.
• Supports the design and plan of multiple projects and completes small to large content development projects as assigned.
• Provides leadership to multiple project teams as appropriate.
• Ensures adherence to brand standards in all training materials.
• Assists with development of new methods and processes for improving learning program operations.
• Designs, plans, and ensures overall integrity/quality of global and regional curricula roadmaps in conjunction with the Learning Program Manager.
• Performs software system administration of multiple high-end HPC platforms: HPE Cray EX (with CSM and HPCM), HPE Cray Supercomputing Storage Systems, and legacy Cray products.
Education and Experience Required
• 3+ years of experience with Cray products
• 3+ years of experience working in Education and training, or L&D, familiar with HPE process and standards regarding this as well.
• First level university degree; advanced university degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience with learning and development models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) preferred but not required.
• Linux system administration or equivalent HPC system administration experience
Knowledge and Skills
• Superior planning, communication, leadership, change management, relationship management, project management, process development, and cultural awareness skills, including global business acumen.
• Superior ability to quickly understand and lead the adoption of new, complex technologies, tools, systems, and concepts.
• Mastery in ability to evaluate variances in learning styles within an audience and tailor delivery solutions accordingly.
• Superior familiarity with learning content and delivery solutions.
• Superior delivery skills including teaching, facilitating, and mentoring capability .
• Superior leadership, communication, change management, relationship management, and project management skills.
• Superior expertise working with cross-functional and global teams.
• Able to work independently as well as a member of a high-performance team in a project-driven environment.
• Demonstrate design thinking in addressing the challenges of a worldwide audience of modern learners.
• Strong innovation focus and a desire to always push for better.
• Strong Linux and system administration knowledge.
• Cray HPC software experience preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn and grow in the Technical Training Services department.
