POSITION SUMMARY:
The Produce Assistant Manager is responsible for managing the center of the produce department to promote sales, achieve profit margins, labor goals and exceed customer expectations.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Follow through training, reports and supervision tasks, properly working, clean, full and organized department
  • Successfully oversees department personnel shifts while maintaining retail standards as required.
  • Oversee suppliers invoices and returns
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking merchandize
  • Requests and ensure proper signage
  • Trains new employees, utilizing all training checklists and materials
  • Controls spoilage / shrink; achieves turn goals and inventory control
  • Orders merchandize for the departments per standard practice
  • Ensures strategy is reconciled among company direction and category strategy
  • Determines cause and actions to address and resolve challenges
  • Creates, administers and measures quarterly budgets
  • Supervises, coordinates and evaluates department personnel performance during the department manager's absence
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma, GED equivalent required
  • Previous experience in produce departments/supermarkets
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The incumbent must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities required for satisfactory performance.
  • Able to conduct proper training

  • Ability to understand, read and record department's invoices and paperwork

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK CONDITIONS:
The physical demands and work conditions below represent those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Some requirements may be modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities:
  • While performing job duties, the manager is required to sit, stand, and use the hands to handle objects, tools or controls.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Successful performance requires vision abilities that include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment is that typical of an office and retail store. The noise level ranges from quiet to loud.
  • Ability to drive and flexible to travel to all company locations as required.

Pay scale $16.60-31.28


The pay scale above is the hourly wage range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position.
*Manager roles have a bonus target potential paid out quarterly based on company results/metrics.

Within this range, individual pay is determined by location and other factors including,
but not limited to, specific skills, relevant work experience, and relevant education and/or training.
The Company offers competitive medical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefits to its team members.
Team Members are also able to participate in the company's 401k plan that includes a safe harbor match.
