Summary: As a Parts Counterperson, you will be responsible for providing customers with the BEST possible advice on car parts and accessories by using your knowledge of automotive parts and how they work together to solve maintenance problems. This is a Full Time position available at Honda Cars of Rock Hill in Rock Hill, SC!

Pay Range:

Up to $50,000 per year and above (salary + bonus/commissions based on performance).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assists customers in selecting and purchasing parts.

  • Places special orders for parts.

  • Reads appropriate manuals to ascertain type and specification of part.

  • Provides pricing and product information to customers.

  • Dispenses parts to the service department and body shop.

  • Orders out-of-stock parts requested by customers.

  • Assists in taking inventory.

  • Meets departmental production and profitability goals.

  • Maintains CSI at or above dealership standards.

  • Answers telephone promptly and consistent with dealership guidelines.

  • Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area.

  • Participates in required training.

  • Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system.

  • Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.

  • Demonstrates the Company’s Core Values.

  • Complies with Company policies and procedures.

  • Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Education:

Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License.

  • 2 years of direct customer service experience (automotive or similar fast-paced environment).

  • Able to work Full Time, 5-days per week, business hours Monday - Saturday.

  • Prior Experience using customer databases, researching and advising customers in selecting products such as automotive parts, addressing any delays, concerns and inquiries.

  • Able to answer calls, greet customers, establish rapport, collaborate with technicians and mechanics to dispense parts and answer questions about product features, pricing, and availability.

  • Able to monitor parts stock levels, order out-of-stock auto parts, take inventory, and maintain accurate records to meet departmental production and profitability goals.

  • Able to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.

  • Able to follow Safeguards rules and regulations.

Computer Skills:

Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products.  Intermediate ability and knowledge of the Parts portion of the Dealership Management System and other computer applications to support operations.

Communication Skills:

Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company

personnel.

Attendance Expectations:

The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts are typically 5-days per week, rotating Saturdays, and may include holidays.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and sit. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Environment Demands:

Duties are performed primarily at the parts counter and in the parts department.  Work includes retrieving parts for customer purchase and moving throughout the parts, service, and body repair departments. Employee continuously interacts with customers and parts and service department employees.

Verbal and Writing Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.  Have working knowledge of automotive parts.
